Birthday Girl

Moriah is 6 today! Before we went to bed last night we filled her room with balloons & hung streamers in her door. When she woke up this morning she ran in my room saying "Mommy, there are so many balloons I can't even walk in my room...they're everywhere!"
She wanted to have a tea party yesterday and I suggested we wait until today. Little did she know, I had already invited some friends from Kindergarten to come for the occasion. Moriah thought it was just going to be her & I, but then friends just kept showing up:) She actually thought it was coincidental, lol!
We are going to Grandpa & Grandma's on Sunday to have a cake & ice cream party with family, but this was a nice way to usher in her actual Birthday.
I cannot believe my baby is 6 years old! Time passes so quickly. I pray for her continually that she will grow to be a young lady after God's own heart. That she will love Him more with each passing year. She is such a blessing to me & I appreciate having her in my life. Happy Birthday Moriah Riah, I love you with all my heart!

Merry Christmas, Happy New Year & Heading back to School!

Has it really been weeks since my last post? Somehow life always just flies by. Christmas has passed & New Years too. The kids are ready to go back to school Monday & I still haven't bought that new backpack for Caleb. His basically shredded 3 weeks ago & poor kid had to go to school Thursday before break with his Preschool backpack (TMNT). I really need to get on that...today. We still haven't taken down the tree or any of the decorations, guess I need to get on that today, too.

We had a very nice Christmas. We got an air hockey table for the kids & gave it to them on Christmas Eve. They were both very excited about it. It's pretty cool, it has all these fun sound effects like cheering crowds & "Awesome Shot!" noises for when you score a goal. It also keeps score for you, which is a bonus when you have 2 kids who like to squabble about such things. We have been hiding it since the summer! I found it at a great bargain & couldn't pass it up.

On Christmas morning Dennis came over & watched Ciara open her Christmas presents he sent her via web cam. That was fun. We left around 11:00am for Trev's parents house & stayed for a couple of days. We had a nice time & even got a little euchre action in...it's been a while. Day after Christmas we got to visit with Eric & Mary Beth who were up from South Carolina. It was nice to see them again & their girls have grown so much! They are all beautiful of course.

For New Years we went over to Steve & Nikki's with our Pointe Group. We had a nice time....lots of food:) I love to eat, so that was a good thing for me...or maybe not such a good thing;{}

Trev has been sick for a week. He has been to the ER twice & to the Dr yesterday. He has a CT scheduled for Monday morning, which will probably come back normal, knowing his luck. Of course it would be too much to ask for us to actually find out what is really going on in his body. His health has been a constant frustration. God knows what he can handle I guess & let's just pray this time in his life passes & he can take something meaningful & worthwhile from it. Honestly I really don't know what my attitude should be about all of this. I see him in pain all the time & I get really sick of it. I feel like, "OK God, show us what you want to accomplish through all of this so we can get on with our real life! You know...the one without all pain, frustration, unknowing & medical bills." This is of course not the attitude I should have, I know it but I struggle. We've prayed & prayed and yet the thorn remains. I need to trust God has our best interest at heart. He knows us better that we know ourselves, He knows each struggle, each pain and each nauseated breath my husband takes and He has a plan for it. We cannot see it right now, but it's there. I believe it. His Word is truth.

We've been down to one vehicle since before Christmas. Trev got into an accident (not his fault). His truck is repairable & will hopefully be finished next week sometime. We were able to get a loaner yesterday, so it will be easier now.

Earlier today I was trying to encourage my kids to drink more water. Moriah became animated (as only Moriah can) & declared that she drinks tons of water. Everyday when she brushes her teeth she takes at least one drink of water & every time she goes to AWANA (1x a week) she gets a drink from the drinking fountain that lasts "like 2 seconds!" How dare I declare that my kids don't drink enough water!

I think that about wraps up our life for the last few weeks, admittedly not very interesting, but it is what it is.
